Family

We almost had the entire family home this week!
We missed you Mike! We played some golf, went
swimming, and had some good lake time. We
took a little boat ride and turned the corner and
saw this cloud front moving in. It was beautiful
but we put the boat away just in time before a
little downpour.

After the quick storm we were treated with the most
amazing rainbow I have ever seen. It was a complete rainbow
stretching over the water and was so bright!

Finally - a little video update of our friend Jace.
He prefers to give "knucks" instead of the customary
high five.

Iowa City

Okay actually these first pictures are in Sioux City .
I love golf pictures and hopefully I'll be posting many
more golf pictures this summer :)

Okay now well move to Iowa City.

Don't these ladies look super cool?

I'd like you to meet my crazy friends. I don't have a
single normal picture of these two. I tried taking
this picture three times. This was the best they
could come up with. :)

I always think of my dad when I see the giant whale
bones in the museum of natural history in Macbride hall.
He says he remembers looking at them when he was in
college here.

Seth visiting his regular spot

We went to eat at Three Samurai and it. was. amazing.

While driving home from Iowa City we ran into a few
scattered storms. It was odd - it would be raining and
then a minute later it would be blinding sunshine.
One of these little storms was off to the side of us and
I told Seth I thought it looked like the cloud was rotating.
Then I pointed out this little piece hanging down and told
Seth to check it out. Then we both watched this little thing
become a tornado!! It was crazy!!! And short-lived. By the time
I got my camera out it was dissipating. It was really cool :)

And to end the slideshow - my husband spent an entire
day outside golfing and then playing softball. He now has
a crazy farmer tan - or would you say accountant tan since
it has the 'V' from his v-neck polo that accountants wear? :)

Happy Father's Day!!

Hey Dads! Thanks for being great fathers!
We are so blessed to have you as our dads,
and want you to know that we appreciate
everything you have done and continue
to do for us! Thank you for being excellent
role models, and for teaching us what it means
to love unconditionally.
We love you!

Storm Update

It's getting closer!!

Birdies

Seth really wanted to knock this nest down when
we power washed the house - but I persisted and
now I get to sit and watch this all day long - and I really
could too :) Baby birds are so ugly they're cute.

We are currently under a tornado watch - the sky
looks amazing.

The Other Arm

Seth's arm from last week was nicely healed...and then
we played on Monday and he decided to tear up
the other arm. But it was worth it - it was an inside the
park homer and he slid into home - it was pretty close
but he was safe!

Here it is on day 2 - getting better!

Joel, a visiting pastor, has been here for the last
couple weeks, and had a birthday while here - so
we baked him a cake as he was away from home
during his b-day. Paul bought sparklers so we
had some fun :)

Summer Sports

Seth and I are on the church softball team. Our team
name is "We Need 4 Outs" - which is pretty funny since
every other team's name is their church name. :)

Sethie sacrificed his body for a fly ball - something I
just don't see myself doing...

Seth and I went golfing for the first time this season
with some of our church friends. It was a good time and
I'm glad I have the rest of the summer to improve my game :)
